Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for a Laboratory Technician for the Industrial division and our Special Coating operations/laboratory in Kungälv. The position is a seasonal employment. At Svevia, we combine the community and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.

Your mission as a Laboratory Technician

In special coatings, we have our laboratories with the main task of conducting production and quality control of materials such as asphalt, unbound, ballast, and road materials as well as binders in the areas of roads, streets, bridges, railways, and airfields. We are currently seeking a laboratory technician for our accredited laboratory in Kungälv to strengthen our team during the season from April to September, with a chance of extension. As a laboratory technician, you will conduct measurements and tests of stone, asphalt, and bitumen. The position may also include field sampling. The analyses performed are mostly mechanical. The start date will be agreed upon, but it is advantageous if you can start in April.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone interested in the construction industry who wants to work with quality control. We believe you are positive and have a strong sense of accuracy and service. You monitor and maintain quality and productivity; work systematically, methodically, and reliably. You are someone who can work both independently and in a team with good stress management.

To work as a laboratory technician with us, you need to have a high school education, but we do not require higher education. The most important thing is that you have the right attitude and are willing to learn something new.

You should be proficient in Swedish and able to communicate and understand English in both written and verbal communication. Good computer skills and a B driver's license are required. In this position, you will occasionally travel to our asphalt plant in Torslanda to collect samples. The work also involves some heavy lifting as we handle rock materials.

Part of something bigger

Svevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in coating in Sweden.

Behind every road lies more than the obvious surface: a whole industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.

It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes ballast, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own quarries, in-house production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that the products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, asphalting, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.

Why Svevia?

With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to influence and make your voice heard.

We have career paths for those who want to become managers and leaders or want to develop in their existing professional roles. It is as a team that we create success. That is how we do business and generate results. That is how we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?

Application and information

You can easily apply by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting quality securely, inclusively, and without bias. Therefore, we do not want a personal letter.

If you have further questions about the position, please contact Site Manager Jacob Källström at phone number 070-5941011. Interviews are conducted continuously, so please submit your application as soon as possible and no later than April 14.

We have made a decision regarding advertising, which means that we do not wish to receive sales calls for further questions regarding advertising, recruitment, or staffing.
